MOCA/ REMOTE CONTROL Exhibition // SHANGHAI
March 3rd 2007
The Remote / Control exhibition was an exercise in visual thought and expression and new Art challenges. New artwork has now become more and more an open process in which the viewer is required to participate and even to complete the artist’s ideas with their own.
“The exhibition Remote / Control is an examination of various perceptual systems, processes, narrative structures and aesthetic strategies that investigate the dynamics of agency in interactive and multimedia artworks.”
Getting ever deeper into interactivity, Warehouse Studio in collaboration with Island6 created two pieces for the Remote / Control exhibition at the MOCA, the youngest modern museum of Shanghai. It was created in 2005 and hosts eclectic exhibitions from all over the world. It was a massive collaboration of work between the Island 6 artists and the Warehouse Studio team: two weeks of hard work, two weeks of ridiculously short nights, two weeks of steel and plexiglas cutting, two weeks of constant insomnia… and more!!! It was two unforgettable weeks for the Warehouse and, without a doubt, for the Island 6 crew. It was like a holiday camp with more work and little sun but with the same heartache when everything was over too soon.
