CHRISTOPHE DEMAITRE CATALOGUE // SHANGHAI
December 2006
Our relocation to the Island 6 Gallery corresponded with Christophe Demaitre’s residency there. Christophe’s mastery of photosensitive material triggered our curiosity and we de-cided to collaborate on the production of his catalogue. Lucas designed the entire cata-logue while Olivia added her personal touch by signing the French preface.
Christophe Demaitre’s work is largely based on the exploration of light and photosensitiv-ity and his catalogue is a mix of the works he made between 2005 and 2007 in several countries with diverse media. Through this collaboration the Warehouse team has gained a rich experience with a talented and interesting character.

CLIENT
ISLAND 6
Island 6 is an art center in Moganshan Road located in an amazing old house built in the early 1900s which was declared a cultural heritage by the Shanghai Municipal Government (and thus spared destruction unlike most of the other old houses in the neighborhood). Alas, it was also once the temporary office of Warehouse Studio…
The policy of French curator Thomas Charveriat is to support young and emerging artists while also being an artistic platform blending modern techniques and traditional arts.
